橫峰街道原為溫嶺市橫峰鎮，2001年10月撤鎮設街道。
橫峰街道位於溫嶺市區北側。分別與城東街道、城北街道、城西街道、溫嶠鎮及澤國鎮接壤。
街道面積15.9平方公里，下轄27個行政村。
