生平
1971年，任中共棲霞縣委常委。1974年，任中共煙臺地委書記。1976年，任山東省冶金局局長。1983年，任山東省冶金工業總公司經理[1]。
1988年，任山東省人民政府副省長。1992年，任中共山東省委副書記，山東省副省長。1995年，升任山東省人民政府省長[2]。
後因煙臺11·24特大海難被給予行政警告處分。2001年，轉任全國人大農業與農村委員會副主任委員。2009年退休。
2024年8月5日在濟南逝世，享年88歲。8月7日，在濟南市殯儀館舉行遺體告別儀式[3]。
