基廷五人

基廷五人（英語：Keating Five）是指1989年五位被控腐敗的美國聯邦參議員，由此引發了一場美國國會政治醜聞，也是1980年代末、1990年代初美國儲貸危機（英語：Savings and loan crisis）的一部分。這五位參議員分別為加利福尼亞州民主黨參議員阿蘭·克蘭斯頓、亞利桑那州民主黨參議員丹尼斯·德孔西尼（英語：Dennis DeConcini）、俄亥俄州民主黨參議員約翰·格倫、亞利桑那州共和黨參議員約翰·麥凱恩以及密歇根州民主黨參議員唐納德·W·里格爾（英語：Donald W. Riegle Jr.）。他們被指控代表林肯儲蓄和貸款機構（英語：Lincoln Savings and Loan Association）主席查爾斯·基廷（英語：Charles Keating）干涉了聯邦住房貸款委員會（英語：Federal Home Loan Bank Board）對林肯機構的監管調查。住房貸款委員會最終未對林肯儲蓄和貸款機構採取任何行動。

林肯儲蓄和貸款機構於1989年破產，聯邦政府因此花費了超過30億美元。約23000名林肯債券持有人被騙，許多投資者失去了他們的終身積蓄。五位參議員總共從基廷處取得了130萬美元的政治捐款，這引起了公眾與媒體的廣泛關注。經過漫長的調查後，參議院道德委員會於1991年宣佈，參議員克蘭斯頓、德孔西尼與里格爾嚴重地不當干涉了住房貸款委員會對林肯儲蓄和貸款機構的調查，其中克蘭斯頓受到了官方譴責。同時，道德委員會雖認為參議員格倫與麥凱恩沒有不當行為，但還是批評了他們的錯誤判斷。

五位參議員最終都任滿了他們的參議員任期。此後，只有格倫與麥凱恩再度競選，並都連任成功。麥凱恩後來還曾兩度競選美國總統，並成為了2008年美國總統選舉的共和黨總統候選人。
