在以原子核內中子數為橫坐標,以質子數為縱坐標的核素圖上,在豐質子一側和豐中子一側,各有一條邊界線,超過邊界線的原子核將只能以質子/中子發射為其衰變方式,稱為原子核滴線,豐質子一側的滴線稱為質子滴線,豐中子一側的滴線稱為中子滴線。
已知的值
目前,只有前10種元素的中子滴線的值是已知的,即H~Ne。[1] 若Z = 8,中子數的最大值是16因而O-24是最重的氧同位素。[2]
