協會是指由個人、單個組織為達到某種目標，通過簽署協議，自願組成的團體或組織。
中文「協會」一詞蘊涵英文Association與Cooperative之義，在日文與韓文中，皆分別用組合和協同組合表示。
協會和工會組織的概念不同。「協會」常指包括職業、僱主、行業、學術和科學等方面為達成某種目標而成立的組織。「工會」多指被僱用者為確保自身權益（特別是經濟利益）而成立的組織，多集中於僱傭者和被僱傭者的關係。
