沿革
1984年，北嶽文藝出版社成立，主要出版山西作家作品為主，內容包括當代和現代文學、藝術作品及文藝理論、文藝批評專著等[1]。隸屬於山西省出版總社[2]。1990年重新登記註冊[3]。1993年3月，因出版張湘霖編《荒誕歲月奇聞錄：共和國檔案記錄》，被封存處罰[4]；同年8月5日，結束停業整頓，恢復營業[5]。
