Symphony X（以下簡稱SX）來自美國新澤西州，於1994年由結他手Michael Romeo組成。風格屬於前衛金屬。他們分別於1997、2000發行的專輯「The Divine Wings of Tragedy」、「V: The New Mythology Suite」，絕佳的內容使他們成為備受矚目的重金屬樂團。
就音樂上來說，SX常常被拿來與夢劇場、Fates Warning、Pain of Salvation（救贖代價）等樂團做比較，不過簡單的辨別方式就是，SX的音樂比較「重」。樂句上常使用切分音，和前衛的風格，並且包括了交響金屬的元素在內。濃厚的新古典元素如Yngwie Malmsteen，Randy Rhoads和其他在新古典金屬上具有影響力的音樂家，也同時影響着他們的音樂。
