5S 核糖體RNA

5S 核糖體RNA（5S rRNA）是原核生物及真核生物細胞的核糖體大亞基中共有的一種雙鏈RNA。

• 該rRNA是在原核生物核糖體50S亞基的一部分。
• 該rRNA在真核生物中由RNA聚合酶III合成（其他真核細胞中的rRNA都由45S RNA前體（由RNA聚合酶I合成）裂解而成）。在爪蟾（Xenopus） 的卵母細胞中，人們發現轉錄因子TFIIIA的9-鋅指結構中的第4至第7指能與5S rRNA的核心區域結合^[3]。
