生平
建平元年（398年）七月廿一，慕容盛平定蘭汗之亂，實行大赦。慕容盛不敢稱帝，以長樂王代理朝政。任命東陽公慕容根為尚書左僕射，悅真為侍中，陽哲為中書監，張通為中領軍，改慕容寶的諡號為惠閔皇帝，廟號烈宗。陽哲歷仕慕容熙、慕容雲，在後燕滅亡後，繼續為北燕馮跋的大臣。太平二十二年（430年）八月，北燕天王馮跋重病，徵召中書監申秀、侍中陽哲來到寢殿囑託後事。
