真獸下綱

真獸下綱（學名：Eutheria）是一個包含胎盤類哺乳動物的演化支。此名稱是由湯瑪斯·亨利·赫胥黎在1880年所推薦使用，在他的定義下，真獸類包含的範圍比胎盤類（Placentalia）更廣泛，即所有與現存胎盤類關係更接近、而離現存有袋類較遠的哺乳動物。胎盤類則只是包含了現存真獸類的最近共同祖先及其後代，也就是說，胎盤類是真獸下綱的冠群。
