土丘 (愛丁堡)

土丘（The Mound）是蘇格蘭愛丁堡中心的一個人工山丘，連接愛丁堡新城和愛丁堡舊城。它是在興建愛丁堡新城時，在1765年將挖出的土填平Nor Loch湖，形成今天的王子街花園。土丘的興建始於1781年，後來又陸續擴建，直到1830年大體完成，形成宏觀的景觀。[1] 1846年，愛丁堡-格拉斯哥鐵路延伸到愛丁堡威瓦利站，在土丘下面開挖了隧道。
愛丁堡一些最著名的建築物和機構都興建在土丘之上，包括蘇格蘭國家畫廊、蘇格蘭皇家學院、新學院的尖頂、蘇格蘭教會總會所（General Assembly Hall of the Church of Scotland）、擁有優雅圓頂的蘇格蘭銀行總行，及其博物館土丘博物館（Museum on the Mound）。
