2015年1月，執行製作人法澤卡斯和巴特斯透露該劇不會成為迷你劇、可能會有第二季、第二季不一定只有8集。[9]第一季結束後，創作人馬庫斯和麥克菲利表示，他們有一段「關於卡特的身份和身世的故事」沒有來得及放在第一季，並希望在第二季中展開。[10]兩人還表示，還有一段卡特、安吉和多蒂「晚上一起出去玩」的故事，在這段故事中將一窺卡特的個人生活，也講述了安吉的一些經歷，他們認為這些故事「在第二季更方便」講述出來。[11]
該劇於2015年5月7日預訂第二季，[1]並於2016年《神盾局特工》第三季的季中空檔播出。[12][13]
