生平
1970年5月加入中國共產黨。1973年任中共廣平縣委副書記；1974年任廣平縣委書記、革委會主任，曲周縣委書記、革委會主任，曲周縣委書記。1982年8月，任共青團河北省委書記；1983年2月，任邯鄲地區農委主任，邯鄲地區農業局局長；1992年12月，任邯鄲地區行署副專員[1]；1993年6月，任邯鄲市副市長；1994年9月任中共張家口市委書記。1997年12月，任中共河北省委常委、秘書長；1998年4月任省委常委、秘書長、政法委書記；1999年2月後任省委常委、政法委書記；2001年12月任省委副書記[2]。2002年1月—2005年1月，任中共河北省委副書記。2005年1月—2005年3月，任河北省委副書記、政協河北省委員會副主席。2005年3月，任政協河北省委員會副主席[3][4]。
