Iâm-ki (鹽基, Eng-gí: base) sī chi̍t lūi hoà-ha̍k bu̍t-chit, ē-tàng chiap-siu chúi-sò͘ lî-chú (H+, iông-chú), he̍k-chiá kóng ē-tàng thê-kiong tiān-chú tùi (electron pairs). Nā ē-tàng iûⁿ tī chúi lāi ê iâm-ki kiò alkali.
Chiàu Hôa-gí-sek iōng-gí, iâm-ki ū-sî hông kiò chò "kiⁿ" (鹼) ia̍h "kiⁿ-ki" (鹼基), chóng-sī "kiⁿ" mā ū lēng-goā kaⁿ-taⁿ chí alkali, he̍k-chiá sī hâm iâm-ki kiam alkali ê ì-sù.
