公尺抑米是咧量長短的單位，伊是國際單位制基本單位之一，記做m，本底法國科學院(French Academy of Sciences)共赤道經過巴黎(Paris)到北極的1/10,000,000定做一米，現此時國際斗秤尺局(International Bureau of Weights and Measures)共光佇真空一秒鐘走的距離的光速分之一定做一米。
一米約量3.28英尺，共m頭前加SI字頭(SI prefix)會當得著一寡長短的組合單位，比論講1km就是1公里= 1000公尺，1cm 就是公分 = 1/100公尺。
