歷史沿革
1984年8月17日，經黑龍江省人民政府批准，雞西大學開始籌建。
1988年5月，雞西市經委職工大學、雞西廣播電視大學併入雞西大學。
2013年4月18日，教育部批准雞西大學升為本科，並更名為黑龍江工業學院。
院系設置
現有電氣與信息工程學院、環藝與建築工程學院、現代製造工程學院、資源工程學院、經濟管理學院、國際教育學院、馬克思主義學院、人文與師範學院、體育學院、創新創業教育學院10個學院和雞西廣播電視大學。
科研情況
設有10個科研所，承擔國家及省部級各類科研課題557項，獲獎238項。
