前707年，鄭國與周王室發生繻葛之戰，原繁、高渠彌率領中軍護衛鄭莊公。鄭莊公打算任命高渠彌為卿，太子忽討厭他，一直勸說莊公不要這麼做，但莊公不聽。太子忽繼位，即鄭昭公，高渠彌害怕被昭公殺害。
前694年秋，齊襄公在首止召開盟會；子亹與會，高渠彌相禮。七月戊戌，齊襄公殺死子亹，車裂高渠彌，祭仲到陳國迎回子儀為鄭君。
