生平
1957年畢業於許昌師專（今許昌學院），1959年畢業於河南大學歷史系，後留校任教，歷任歷史系講師、副教授、教授、系副主任。1983年任河大黨委副書記。1991年8月任河南大學校長[1]，1995年6月在校長任內出訪途中病世於新西伯利亞醫院。
