大衛·拉塞爾出生於蘇格蘭格拉斯哥，5歲時全家搬到西班牙梅諾卡島。[1] 2005年拉塞爾獲得47屆格萊美最佳古典器樂獨奏獎。[2] 他現居西班牙加利西亞，但大部分時間在世界各地巡演。
