占美·羅渣士（英語：Jimmie Rodgers，1897年9月8日—1933年5月26日），全名占士·查理斯·羅渣士（James Charles Rodgers），也被稱作「會唱歌的扳道工（The Singing Brakeman）」「The Blue Yodeler」，是著名的美國鄉村音樂歌手，以他的約德爾唱法聞名，被譽為「鄉村音樂之父」。

早年生活

一般認為，占美·羅渣士出生在密西西比州的莫里迪恩市，而在他在後期總把出生地寫成他祖父家——阿拉巴馬州的蓋格市^[1]。羅渣士的父親亞倫·羅渣士（Aaron Rodgers）是一個鐵路工人，在他大約6、7歲的時候，母親死於肺結核，他小時候一直跟親戚住在蓋格市附近。14歲的時候，羅渣士做了鐵路工人，這讓他有機會接觸到許多黑人工人和他們的音樂，並可以沿着鐵路在美國到處遊歷。

演藝生涯

占美·羅渣士很早就顯示出音樂的才華，但在1923年罹患肺結核，這讓他身體很虛弱，無法承受鐵路工人的工作，他開始用唱歌作為謀生的手段。他加入了一個美國南方的「帳篷巡迴樂團」演奏班卓琴，後來他有了自己的帳篷，但是颶風捲走了帳篷。羅渣士回到了鐵路上工作，在佛羅里達州的邁阿密做制動員，但還是因為身體不好沒有幹長，他又去了亞利桑那州的圖森做扳道工。不到一年，他和妻子凱芮、女兒阿妮塔回到了莫里迪恩。

1927年，他來到北卡羅來納州的阿什維爾，與Otis Kuykendall一起在阿什維爾的第一家電台表演。幾個月後，他加入了來自田納西布里斯托的「特尼瓦流浪者」（Tenneva Ramblers）的樂隊，組成了「占美·羅渣士娛樂使者」樂隊（The Jimmie Rodgers Entertainers）。

1927年8月，「占美·羅渣士娛樂使者」樂隊參加了域陀唱片公司錄音，在錄音的前夜。由於對錄音後的收入分成沒有達成一致，樂隊解散了。第二天，羅渣士獨自參加了錄音。錄下了《The Soldier's Sweetheart》和《睡吧，寶貝》（Sleep, Baby, Sleep）。唱片發行後，《睡吧，寶貝》深受人們喜愛。11月，羅渣士在費城又錄製了四首歌。他的第二張唱片上市後，A面上的《藍色約德爾》（Blue Yodel），也被稱為《T代表德克薩斯》（T for Texas） 獲得了巨大的成功，銷量驚人。

此後的幾年，已經是大明星的占美·羅渣士十分繁忙，他為哥倫比亞電影公司錄製了短片《會唱歌的扳道工》（The Singing Brakeman），並在美國各地錄製唱片，陸續推出了《約德爾》2至13號。

最後時光

不斷的錄音和巡演損害着羅渣士的健康，他的結核病不斷加重。1933年5月24日他錄完了最後一首歌^[2]，36小時後，35歲的羅渣士因結核病去世。
