歷史沿革
改革開放後，經濟基礎較落後的新縣有不少居民前往日本、韓國等已開發國家打工；學校即肇始於1984年成立的新縣外派勞務培訓中心[1]，2002年，該培訓中心改名為新縣對外勞務合作管理局外派勞務培訓中心，可向國外派遣移工，並負責該縣涉外勞務市場的管理和相關人才的培訓[2]；2011年，培訓中心升格為專科層次的信陽涉外職業技術學院[3][4]。
