中華人民共和國第三屆少數民族傳統體育運動會於1986年8月10日至17日在新疆維吾爾自治區的烏魯木齊市舉辦。共有來自全國29個省、自治區、直轄市55個少數民族的運動員參加本屆賽事。比賽項目有摔跤、射箭、賽馬、叼羊、射弩、搶花炮、鞦韆7項，設金牌47枚；表演項目15項。^[1]
