1982 in the sport of athletics

自1982年起，国际田联对其规定作了一些修改，允许运动员因参加比赛而获得报偿。然而，国际田联却一直保留其全名中“业余”一词，直到2001年国际田联大会上才把名称改为国际田径联合会（英語：International Association of Athletics Federations，简称国际田联）。
