唐玄宗天寶元年（742年），改思唐州置武郎郡。治所在武郎縣（今廣西平南縣北馬練瑤族鄉）。下轄武郎縣、平原縣（今廣西平南縣大鵬鎮羅簡圩）。轄境相當今廣西平南縣西北及相鄰的金秀瑤族自治縣部分地。唐肅宗乾元元年（758年）改為思唐州。
