生平
1952年畢業於上海滬江大學，之後入中華人民共和國外交部工作。1952年至1983年，任中華人民共和國外交部國際司科員、副司長。1983年至1984年，任常駐日內瓦代表團副代表。1984年至1988年，任外交部國際司司長。1988年至1990年，任外交部部長助理。1990年至1993年，任常駐聯合國代表、大使。1993年至1998年，任駐美國大使。1998年3月，第九屆全國人大第一次會議上，他當選為全國人民代表大會常務委員會委員[1][2][3][4]、全國人大華僑委員會副主任委員。2004年退休。[5]
2019年9月17日，習近平簽署主席令授予李道豫「外交工作傑出貢獻者」國家榮譽稱號[6]。
家庭
李道豫妻子葉兆烈，生二子李晨曄、李方。孫子李樂衡。[7]
