生平
1988年畢業於中央美術學院油畫系。其創作的油畫《三峽新移民》，在北京保利2006秋季拍賣會以2200萬元成交，刷新了中國當代藝術品拍賣的世界紀錄。曾在賈樟柯的電影《世界》中客串，也是賈樟柯2006年紀錄電影《東》中的主人公。2018年1月，當選第十三屆全國政協委員[1]。
