兵符是中國古代調兵或傳達命令所用的憑證，用銅、玉、木或石製成。形狀似虎，也稱作虎符。兵符製成兩半，一半留給君主，另一半交給下屬，須兩半符合後命令才能生效。現存最早的虎符原物為1973年在當時西安南郊（今雁塔區）北沈家橋村出土的杜虎符。
