歷史沿革
1959年，中國科學院哲學社會科學部法學所成立了國際法組。1978年9月，國際法組改建為國際法研究室。2002年10月，在國際法研究室的基礎上，中國社會科學院國際法研究中心成立。2009年9月更名為中國社會科學院國際法研究所。
