Google Chat

Google Chat是Google开发的一款通信软件，允许一对一聊天和群组聊天。Google将其视为Google Hangouts的替代者^[1][2][3][4]。该款软件最初名为Hangouts Chat，2020年4月更名为Google Chat^[5]。

Google Chat最初只适用于Google Workspace用户。^[6]2021年起，Google Chat向所有用户开放^[7]。Google Chat有管理员功能，这表示建立聊天室者能几乎掌控聊天室。用户必须透过Google Workspace帐户使用Google Chat，才能编辑或删除Chat讯息。^[8]

Google计划在2022年初弃用Google 环聊，并用Google Chat取代。^[9]

Google Chat的旧称为Hangouts Chat。在与Hangouts Meet一同更名之后，Hangouts品牌从 Google Workspace中移除。

2021年8月，Google开始自动登出iOS和Android上的Google环聊用户，并通知他们切换到Google Chat。^[10]
