生平
陈煌和兄弟陈炜都是成化十一年进士陈睿之孙，正德二年（1507年）两人同中福建乡试举人，授南京工部司务，升员外郎、郎中，监督工程掌管得宜；嘉靖帝即位，进士张璁寻找南京部曹一起上疏支持嘉靖帝，强逼他一同上疏，他拒绝后遭外放为思南知府，因母亲逝世回乡[2]，服阙后补任曲靖，曲靖地方偏僻，上级催促税项，他当中调停不扰民，任满后辞官回家，行李萧然，没有公事不到公庭，以至诚待人，与陈炜、幼弟知县陈煇合称“三知”[1]。
