蝾螈亚目

蝾螈亚目（学名：Salamandroidea）为有尾目下个一个亚目，分布于除了南极洲、撒哈拉以南非洲与大洋洲以外的全世界。和隐鳃鲵亚目最大的差异在于，蝾螈亚目下颚的角骨与前关节骨愈合，且均为体内受精^[2]。雌性个体透过雄性提供的精包授精，雌性会将精包储存于泄殖腔内的受精囊（英语：spermatheca）中直到产卵^[3]。

目前最早已知的蝾螈亚目为发现于约157百万年前侏㑩纪晚期髫髻山组的建平北燕螈（英语：Beiyanerpeton jianpingensis）（Beiyanerpeton jianpingensis）^[4]。
