萨拉斯瓦蒂河梵语सरस्वती नदी罗马化:Sárasvatī Nadī),又称娑罗室伐底河,是出现在古代《梨俱吠陀》描述中的一条河流,位于印度西北。据近代学者考证,此河于公元前3000年-公元前2000年之间就已经完全枯竭,现今仅存遗址;可能是印度河支流。

萨拉斯瓦蒂河遗迹

古代的萨拉斯瓦蒂河曾经流动于喜马拉雅山脉到印度西海岸之间,宽八公里,现仅存在痕迹。

萨拉斯瓦蒂河在古印度先祖当中的地位相当重要,她被称为河流七姐妹(都是她的支流)中最伟大者。《梨俱吠陀》里就有三首颂歌专门献给她(梨俱吠陀6.61,7.95和7.96)。萨拉斯瓦蒂河流域被认为是吠陀宗教的起源地,在吠陀时代极受尊敬,相当于后来恒河的地位。该河对于许多的西方学者了解上古印度人的历史中具有重大意义。
