硬性辐射 (ionizing radiation ，ionising radiation) 一语是用来形容高能量电磁波，典型的高能X射线或则伽马射线。硬性辐射主要是涉及射线能量能穿透已知物质的厚度，像是典型铅的防护罩。
硬性辐射能够通过单位面积的质量为 167 g·cm-2 的铅（由能量p大于 1 GeV， m为 E>300 MeV、及 e 和 g 为 E>10 GeV 等所构成）[1]
