生平
白莹是洪武二十九年举人白思谦之孙，正统九年（1444年）中举人，十三年（1448年）成进士[2]，获授户科给事中，曾上疏录用死难大臣后裔，又曾上疏裁减官员以节省粮储、将纳桑折现入赋税解决民困与重申洪武年间旧典制优恤官员[3]，让县人称颂其恩德，六科奏草多出自他手，单年代久远没有流传，死后入祀乡贤祠[1]。
