八魁是中国古代星官之一，意为捕捉禽兽的罗网，亦代表负责捕猎禽兽的官员。八魁属于二十八宿中的室宿，位于现代星座的鲸鱼座。《丹元子步天歌》：“门东八魁九个子[1]”。八魁清钦天监所编《仪象考成》中，八魁含有六颗恒星，均为暗弱恒星，最亮的八魁六视星等4.44。
