跳龙属（属名：Saltopus，意为“跳跃的脚”）又名跳足龙、跃步龙，是种非常小的二足恐龙形类动物。它们是三叠纪晚期的肉食性动物。跳龙身长约60公分，体型如小型猫。跳龙的化石是在1910年发现于苏格兰[1]。跳龙有类似鸟类的中空骨头，体重约1公斤，手掌拥有五根手指，头部长并拥有数十颗牙齿。以上没有一点是确定的，因为跳龙仅发现非常少的化石，大部分是后腿碎片。

跳龙曾经有过不同的分类，例如：蜥臀目、更先进的兽脚亚目物种、以及艾雷拉龙的近亲，但因为仅发现部分碎片，所以跳龙的分类仍在争议中。有些研究人员如葛瑞格利·保罗（Gregory S. Paul），认为跳龙是腔骨龙科恐龙的未成年体，例如腔骨龙或原细颚龙[2]。在2000年，奥利佛·劳赫（Oliver Rauhut）与A. Hungerbühler认为跳龙是种原始恐龙形类（Dinosauriformes）动物，亲缘关系接近兔鳄，并非恐龙[3]。在2011年，麦可·班顿（Michael Benton）与艾力克·沃克（Alick Walker）提出跳龙是种恐龙形类，比伪兔鳄还要衍化，但比西里龙科、恐龙还要原始[4]。
