萝藦亚科是双子叶植物纲，夹竹桃科的一个亚科，其模式属为马利筋属（Asclepias）。多年生草本、灌木、藤本、稀为乔木。萝藦科约有250属，2000多种，主要分布在热带和亚热带地区，中国有44属，243种，主要分布在南方各省。
本科植物的叶为单叶，无托叶，叶柄常具有丛生的腺体；花两性，辐射对称。
萝藦科有些属具有肉质茎或肉质叶，常被栽培做为多肉植物观赏，例如：星钟花属、魔星花属、火地亚属等。球兰属可以做盆花，吊灯花属的爱之蔓和风不动属的巴西之吻可以做观叶植物供观赏。
