著名的毒兵变著棋赛，譬如1972年斯帕斯基与菲舍尔对弈的第11局便是采用毒兵变例，由斯帕斯基拿下决定性的胜利，也是斯帕斯基真正意义上地在1972冠军赛智取菲舍尔的局赛。
