北达科他州州旗以蓝色为底，中央为一只爪持橄榄枝条和一把弓箭的秃鹰，秃鹰的嘴中叼著写著“合众为一”（拉丁语：E pluribus unum，美国国徽也使用了此格言）的红色缎带。秃鹰胸前的盾牌有类似于美国国旗的13道红白相间的条纹，象征美国建国时的13州。下方的卷轴则写有州名“北达科他”字样[1]。此旗帜在1911年3月3日被正式采用。
