侧空龙

侧空龙（属名：Pleurocoelus）是种蜥脚下目恐龙，生存于早白垩纪。它们生存于北美洲，可能跟星牙龙为同一种动物。

目前已发现数个关节脱落的身体骨骼，属于未成年个体，由于化石保存状态差，很难建立可鉴定特征。侧空龙身长约9公尺到18公尺，体重为20到45吨。在1997年到2009年，侧空龙是德州的州恐龙，之后被帕拉克西龙取代^[1]。

在1888年，奥塞内尔·查利斯·马什（Othniel Charles Marsh）将一些发现于阿伦德尔组的一些骨头，命名为侏儒侧空龙（Pleurocoelus nanus）及高侧空龙（P. altus）。但是在1921年，查尔斯·怀特尼·吉尔摩尔（Charles W. Gilmore）提出它们应是属于星牙龙的，肯尼思·卡彭特（Kenneth Carpenter）及Tidwell也支持这个观点。有趣的是，星牙龙的大部份骨头都是幼年个体。肯尼思·卡彭特及Tidwell认为马什所命名的侏儒侧空龙与高侧空龙，应该是星牙龙的不同成长阶段^[2]。
