校史
学院前身是1978年10月创建的同济大学建筑工程分校。[2]
1985年1月经中华人民共和国教育部批准在同济大学建筑工程分校的基础上建立上海城市建设学院（简称上海城建学院）。1988年1月通过上海市高等工科院校办学水平评估，认定为合格的普通高等院校。[3]
注：同济大学建筑工程分校与同济大学无建制上的隶属关系。
