于同年1月下旬至2月初在美国第二十一军协助下消灭了科尔马包围圈里的德國第19軍團大部。4月，第一集团军在黑森林围歼党卫军第18军（英语：XVIII SS Corps）并横扫德国西南部。其在战争中获得的座右铭“Rhin et Danube”（莱茵与多瑙）纪念着这支军团穿越两条德国大河的壮举。
