胸段（thorax of the hexapod）又称胸部[1]，是昆虫体躯的第二体段（second tagma）[2][3][4]或中间体段，为运动中心，其连接头段、腿、翅以及腹段；这个部位在其他的节肢动物里也称作中躯。
由前胸、中胸及后胸三节组成，。
昆虫的胸部由前胸、中胸、后胸三个体节（segment）[5]组成，具有足和翅，且具有小楯片；颈部是分隔头段与胸段的膜状构造；而侧板则是胸段侧边的骨片。
在蜻蛉目的昆虫中，它们的中胸与后胸相互愈合，称为合胸（synthorax）[6][7]。
在某些昆虫的蛹，例如蚊子，它们的头和胸段愈合成头胸部。
膜翅目细腰亚目的昆虫（胡蜂、蚁、蜜蜂），他们的第一腹节与胸部愈合，此腹节被称为并胸腹节。
有许多能快速飞行的昆虫，胸段是使用非同步肌（异步肌）来飞行。
