红耳鹎

红耳鹎，（学名：Pycnonotus jocosus），又名红颊鹎，俗名高髻冠、高鸡冠、高冠鸟、黑头公、红屎忽等，原产于亚洲热带的鹎属鸟类。是一种定居性食果动物，主要分布于热带亚洲地区。它作为观赏鸟被引入到世界上许多热带地区，并已在这些地区建立了族群。红耳鹎有着响亮的三或四音节叫声，主要以水果和小型昆虫为食，喜欢显眼地栖息在树上。它常见于山林和城市花园。

分类

红耳鹎由瑞典博物学家卡尔·林奈于1758年在他出版的《自然系统第十版》自然系统中以二名法Lanius jocosus的名称正式描述。^[2] 种小名来自拉丁语的ioculus，意思是“欢乐的”（源自iocus，意为“笑话”）。^[3] 林奈的描述基于瑞典博物学家佩尔·奥斯贝克于1757年描述的Sitta Chinensis。^[4][5] 林奈将模式产地指定为“中国”，但1948年由赫伯特·吉尔顿·德尼安将其限制为香港和广东。^[6][7] 现在，红耳鹎被归入德国动物学家弗里德里希·博伊厄于1826年创立的鹎属（Pycnonotus）中。^[8][9]

在圈养环境中，曾观察到红耳鹎与黑喉红臀鹎、白耳鹎、白眶鹎、黑冠黄鹎和白颊鹎等进行杂交。^[10] 也曾记录到白化现象。^[11]

亚种

目前确认九个亚种：^[9]

• P. j. fuscicaudatus - (Gould, 1866)：最初被描述为一个独立物种。分布于印度西部和中部，拥有几乎完整的胸带且尾巴无白尖。
• P. j. abuensis - (Whistler, 1931)：分布于印度西北部（模式产地为阿布山^[12]），颜色较淡，胸带不连续且尾巴无白尖。
• P. j. pyrrhotis - (Bonaparte, 1850)：最初被描述为属于Ixos的一个独立物种。分布于印度北部的特莱和尼泊尔，上部颜色较淡，尾巴有白色尖端，胸带分离较远。
• P. j. emeria - (Linnaeus, 1758)：最初被描述为属于Motacilla的一个独立物种。^[13] 分布于印度东部至泰国西南部，上部呈温暖的棕色，喙纤细且有长冠（也被引入到佛罗里达州^[14]）。
• P. j. whistleri - Deignan, 1948：分布于安达曼群岛，上部羽毛为温暖的棕色，喙较粗，冠羽比P. j. emeria短。
• P. j. monticola - (Horsfield, 1840)：最初被描述为属于Ixos的一个独立物种。分布于东喜马拉雅山脉至缅甸北部和中国南部，上部比P. j. pyrrhotis更深。
• P. j. jocosus - (Linnaeus, 1758)：分布于中国东南部。
• P. j. hainanensis - (Hachisuka, 1939)：分布于海南岛（中国东南部海岸）。
• P. j. pattani - Deignan, 1948：分布于缅甸南部和马来半岛北部，经泰国、印度支那南部，甚至延伸至爪哇和苏门答腊。

描述

红耳鹎和其巢

年轻的红耳鹎（3周大）

成鸟全长20～22厘米，翼展约28厘米，体重23～42克。头顶及枕部黑色，具长的直立羽冠，眼下后方具红色块斑，颊部白色，颊纹黑色，喉部白色，两侧自下颈达胸部各有一条黑色带纹，带纹后边缘转为褐色。上体、尾羽褐色，外侧尾羽具白色端斑，下体白色，尾下覆羽红色^[15]。虹膜褐色，嘴及脚黑色。亚种monticola具完整的黑色胸带^[16]。雌鸟羽色似雄鸟，但黑羽均被替代为黑褐色^[17]。亚成鸟眼下后方黑色而无红色块斑，尾下覆羽棕色。^[16]。

它们的叫声响亮且具表现力，常被描述为尖锐的kink-a-joo（也有记录为pettigrew、kick-pettigrew或pleased to meet you^[18]），而其鸣唱声则是一种责备般的叽喳声。它们往往更容易被听到而非被看到，但经常在早晨显眼地栖息于树顶并鸣声。寿命约为11年。^[19]

分布与栖地

分布于印度、中国南方及东南亚，引种至澳大利亚及其他地区^[16]。中国国内分布于西藏东南部、西南地区和华南地区南部^[15]。

红耳鹎栖息于轻度林地区域、灌木丛及农田等较为开阔的地方。自古以来就有它们爆发性迁徙的记录，托马斯·贾顿曾注意到它们“定期以大群造访马德拉斯和其他有林地的城镇”。^[20]

它们已经在澳大利亚、美国的洛杉矶、夏威夷^[21]和佛罗里达州^[22]，以及毛里求斯、阿桑普申岛^[23]和马斯克林群岛等地建立了族群。^[24][25] 在佛罗里达州，它们仅在一小片地区出现，其族群很容易被灭绝。^[26] 2013-2015年间，它们从阿桑普申岛被彻底清除，以防止其入侵邻近的阿尔达布拉岛，这是世界上最大的无引入鸟类的热带岛屿。^[27]

红耳鹎于1880年由动物学及驯化协会引入悉尼，1920年时已在郊区广泛定居，并逐步扩展到约100公里外的地区。如今，它们也出现在墨尔本和阿德莱德的郊区，虽然它们如何到达这些地方仍不清楚。^[28]

行为与生态

在留尼汪岛，此物种定居后促进了外来植物物种如Rubus alceifolius的扩散。在佛罗里达州，它们食用多达24种外来植物的果实和浆果，包括枇杷（Eriobotrya japonica）、马缨丹、巴西肖乳香（Schinus terebinthifolius）和榕果（Ficus）。^[29] 在毛里求斯，它们帮助散播粗壮女贞和毛野牡丹藤的种子。经过它们消化的种子发芽效果更佳。^[30] 红耳鹎在留尼汪岛的族群在三十年间已经发生多样化，且显示出根据食物资源适应的喙部形态变异。^[31]

繁殖季节分散开来，南印度的高峰期为12月至5月，而北印度则为3月至10月。^[32] 每年可能繁殖一次或两次。^[33] 雄鸟的求偶展示包括低头、展开尾巴及下垂翅膀。^[33] 巢为杯状，筑于灌木丛、茅草墙或小树上。巢由细小的树枝、根茎和草编织而成，并用树皮条、纸或塑料袋等大物件装饰。^[26]巢卵数通常为两或三颗。^[33] 成鸟（可能是雌鸟^[18]）有时会假装受伤以分散潜在捕食者的注意，远离巢穴。^[33][34] 卵呈淡紫色地面，靠近宽端处有斑点。卵的尺寸为21毫米长、16毫米宽。^[35] 卵孵化需12天。双亲共同抚养幼鸟。幼鸟以毛毛虫和昆虫为食，成熟后则改为水果和浆果。^[18] 幼鸟为“仅翼部有绒羽”的毛幼。^[14] 卵和幼鸟可能会遭褐翅鸦鹃和乌鸦捕食。^[18]

繁殖季节时，它们会捍卫约3,000 m²（32,000 sq ft）的领地。^[36] 它们成群栖息，每群可达一百只以上的鸟。^[37][38]

食物与觅食

红耳鹎以水果（包括对哺乳动物有毒的黄花夹竹桃果实）、花蜜和昆虫为食。^[39]

健康

多种鸟类疟疾寄生虫曾被记录在此物种中。^[40] Plasmodium jiangi于1993年由何氏与黄氏首次在中国东南部发现。^[41]

文化中的地位

该物种曾在印度部分地区是一种受欢迎的笼中鸟。C. W. Smith 曾记录道^[42]

这些鸟深受当地人喜爱，因为它们性格无畏且容易驯养。它们被教导站在手上，在任何印度市场上都能看到大量此类鸟。

该物种在东南亚部分地区仍是受欢迎的笼中鸟。^[24]

保护措施

在中国大陆，红耳鹎被列入国家林业局2000年8月1日发布的《国家保护的有益的或者有重要经济、科学研究价值的陆生野生动物名录》。
