大西洋黑绵鳚，为辐鳍鱼纲鲈形目绵鳚亚目绵鳚科的其中一种，分布于西大西洋区，从加拿大至美国维吉尼亚州及东大西洋区，从苏格兰经地中海至非洲毛里塔尼亚海域，属底栖性鱼类，栖息深度400-1853米，体长可达15公分，属肉食性，以桡脚类等为食。
