原鳃亚纲

原鳃亚纲（学名：Protobranchia）是双壳纲之下的一个亚纲^[2]，下领三个有现生种的目和一个只有化石种的目。 这些深水的双壳纲物种均为体型细小的原始物种。

型态描述

原鳃亚纲动物都有一套相对较原始的鳃，而在壳的铰有一排短小的铰齿，而且壳内有珠母层^[3]。

分类

根据动物分类表，原鳃亚纲包括以下两个总目^[4]：

• 总目 Nuculaniformii
  • 目 Afghanodesmatida
• 银锦蛤总目 Nuculiformii
  • 目 Praecardioida†
  • 弯锦蛤目 Nuclanoida^[5]：在1997年之前属于古列齿亚纲（Palaeotaxodonta）^[6]；
  • 银锦蛤目 Nuculida：原属弯锦蛤目，又名胡桃蛤目（Nuculoida）；
  • 蛏螂目 Solemyoida：又名芒蛤目
