格莱斯顿在蒙大拿州的布朗宁长大，她是黑脚族与内兹珀斯人出身。她在2008年毕业于蒙大拿大学，获得演艺/执导方面的美术学士学位，并辅修美洲原住民研究（英语：Native American studies）。
