水蕨科（Parkeriaceae），一年或多年生挺水植物、沉水植物或漂浮植物，高从15公分到40公分左右都有。叶子生长呈现多样化，并没有一定，会随周遭环境有所更动。一般来说，该种植物都生长在湿地。
在台湾仅有水蕨（Ceratopteris thalictroides（L） Brongn.）一种，自上新世起出现孢子的化石。
形态
茎节[1]直立。
叶双型[2]，营养叶为一回至三回羽状复叶、网状脉；孢子叶则更细裂，叶缘反卷形成假孢子囊膜。
孢子囊生于特殊的孢子叶上，沿叶的边缘生长成排，具有假膜。孢子囊为球形、具有短柄及厚环壁；孢子为三叉裂沟粒。
