历史文献办公室[1]（英语：Office of the Historian），是美国国务院公共事务局辖下的办公室。
该办公室根据法律[2][3]规定，负责编撰与出版有关美国的外交政策书籍：《美国的对外关系》（Foreign Relations of the United States ，缩写：FRUS） 。
办公室也负责辨识与维护，经长期保存的，具重要性的外交历史纪录；也参与其他美国的外交部门对历史研究的推广活动，及回应其他历史学家或新闻记者，或政府有关外交史的问题。
当前的办公室主任是Stephen Randolph[4]，过去的主任有Marc J. Susser、John Campbell（前美国驻尼日利亚大使）、Edward P. Brynn等。
历史文献办公室不是一个文件库，美国政府的历史文件由国家档案和记录管理局保存；历史文献办公室在线上公开的资料在全世界都是公有领域，可以任意复制、散布与利用。[5]
