塘桥区是上海浦东历史上的一个市辖区。该区西濒黄浦江，南连杨思区，北接洋泾区，东至南汇县。面积14.84平方公里。该地原本为上海县塘桥乡。中华民国17年(1928年)设立塘桥区并且由上海县划入上海特别市。中华民国34年（1945年）撤销，辖地划归洋泾区、杨思区2区。[1]
